Public Information OFfice
The Public Information Office (PIO) reports directly to the Chief of Police and functions as the intermediary between the Miami Beach Police Department and media entities. The PIO is tasked with managing all internal and external communications associated with the police department and is dedicated to promoting transparency and disseminating critical information to the public.

After-Hours On-Call Policy
Office Hours:
Monday - Friday: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Closed on weekends and holidays.
Contact Procedures:
Emails and phone messages received after office hours will be addressed after 9 a.m. on the next business day. Please be advised that our email and social media platforms are not monitored outside of office hours.
Our Public Information Office endeavors to provide professional and timely assistance in compliance with Florida Public Records Law 119. Routine media inquiries and records requests are handled promptly during regular business hours.
A public information officer (PIO) is available on call for emergencies and significant breaking news events outside of office hours. However, details on non-fatal car crashes, routine arrests, and specific ongoing investigations may not be available during these times. Written records, including arrest affidavits and incident reports, are also unavailable on weekends.
The on-call public information officers should only be contacted in high-priority situations.
