Major Eric Garcia

Major Eric Garcia currently oversees the Miami Beach Police Department’s Tech Services. He has 26 years of professional law enforcement experience. Major Garcia began his career as a Police Officer for the City of Hallandale Beach in 1997 before joining the Miami Beach Police Department in 2000.

Over his career, Major Garcia has served in all five MBPD Divisions in various capacities. In addition to his professional assignments, Major Garcia also previously served on several FOP Committees including the take-home, grievance, and contract negotiations committees, and served two terms as an elected Trustee of the Fire and Police Pension Fund.

Major Garcia was born in Los Angeles, CA and grew up in Miami. He is a proud graduate of Belen Jesuit Prep School and Florida International University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Finance.
