‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Thunders into Miami Beach OnStage!

Cinematic blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick” touches down on iconic Miami Beach for a unique outdoor showing of the movie that sent fans flocking back to theaters. In addition to free movies under the stars, Miami Beach OnStage! promises to fill city parks and public spaces with live dance performances and music all summer long through September.
“Miami Beach OnStage! offers residents and visitors a free cultural experience while highlighting our great parks and public spaces,” explained Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber.
In addition to ‘Top Gun: Maverick, other big events over the summer include a new production of synchronized swimming and poetry by O, Miami and artist Monica Lopez de Victoria, who brought us last year’s sold-out performance of “Submerging Geometry;” North Beach favorite, Anibal Berraute’s ‘Milonga Under the Stars;’ Brazilian and Latin jazz as well as the The Rhythm Foundation’s Seaside Summer 2022.
Participating cultural presenters for Miami Beach OnStage! include the Miami Jewish Film Festival; South Beach Jazz Festival; Global Arts Project; The Rhythm Foundation; Miami Beach Classical Music Festival; Dance NOW!; Community Arts & Culture; O, Miami and Young Musicians Unite.
Free events are planned at Lummus Park, Normandy Fountain Plaza, Pride Park, Muss Park, Altos Del Mar Park, Collins Park Plaza, Lincoln Road and the Miami Beach Bandshell.
Fans of the Cruise franchise can catch the original “Top Gun” at 13 Street and Ocean Drive in Lummus Park on Thursday, July 7 at 8:30 p.m. “Top Gun: Maverick” will land at Pride Park outside the Miami Beach Convention Center at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15.
