Nominate a Local Leader Who Has Made Miami Beach Legendary

Miami Beach’s unique history, economic growth and thriving status as a premiere place to live, work and play has been created and enhanced by the dedicated efforts of its community members. Today, more than ever, we are realizing how valuable determined, creative and innovative leadership, past and present, is to the viability and wellbeing of a community. To recognize remarkable individuals that have made a lasting and significant impact on Miami Beach, the city is asking the public to nominate deserving individuals for the Miami Beach Hall of Fame. Nominations are being accepted now through September 14, 2020.
Selected Miami Beach Hall of Fame recipients are celebrated in the permanent honor hall, located on the south concourse wall of the Miami Beach Convention Center. Inductees will be honored with a plaque listing their accomplishments and a special ceremony to celebrate their achievements.
“There could never be a big enough thank you for the hard work these individuals have dedicated to our community,” expressed Commissioner Micky Steinberg. “The Hall of Fame is a special opportunity for the city to pay tribute to those passionate community members that have been monumental in creating this vibrant community we all love.”
Eligible individuals must have been either born in Miami Beach, made Miami Beach his/her place of residence or business and/or had a positive and lasting impact on the community. Please click here to access the online application system. Completed applications must be submitted in the online portal by September 14, 2020 at 11:59 PM.
The nine member Commission-appointed Hall of Fame Selection Committee, which includes two at large members from the community, will meet, review applications and recommend deserving applications. The Hall of Fame Selection Committee members will be knowledgeable in the fields of business, education, arts and entertainment, philanthropy, sports, public service, literature and history. They will present their recommendations to the Mayor and City Commission on November 18, 2020 for review. The city will host the second Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in 2021 to present the inductees.
