Miami Beach Welcomes New Nautical-Themed Playground with Beach Cleanup and Bird Release

(Miami Beach, FL) Oct 21, 2021 -

Join the City of Miami Beach today as officials take the wraps off a new nautical-themed playground at 4 p.m. with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, beach cleanup and bird release to mark the occasion.

The new Indian Beach Park features a kid-sized lighthouse, lifeguard stand, sea turtle, coral rock and dolphin climber as well as a swing set, slides and even a play surfboard and personal watercraft.

“It’s exciting to imagine all the new memories that will be created here by children,” Miami Beach City Manager Alina T. Hudak said. “It is one of 10 parks that our residents and visitors can enjoy along the soon-to-be completed Beachwalk. We encourage everyone to park hop.”

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Pelican Harbor Sea Bird Station will conduct a bird release and area volunteers will take part in the beach cleanup. The cleanup was organized in partnership with VolunteerCleanUp.org and the Surfrider Foundation.

Indian Beach Park is located at 4601 Collins Ave.
