Miami Beach Fire Department Welcomes New Class of Firefighters

Miami Beach, FL – On Thursday, February 6 at 10 a.m., the Miami Beach Fire Department will welcome Class 24-01, who have successfully completed 12 weeks of intensive training, as they officially join the department. The ceremony will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center’s Sunset Vista Ballroom. This event will celebrate these 11 individuals, who are now prepared to serve the Miami Beach community with life-saving emergency services and fire protection.

The rigorous training program included physical conditioning, fire suppression techniques, rescue operations, emergency medical procedures and simulations designed to prepare recruits for the challenges they may encounter. This comprehensive training reflects the Miami Beach Fire Department’s ongoing commitment to excellence and community safety for residents and visitors.

“We are excited to welcome Class 24-01 to our department,” said Fire Chief Digna Abello. “These individuals have demonstrated the strength and dedication required to uphold our mission of protecting lives and property on Miami Beach.”

The new firefighters will now begin their rotations at stations across Miami Beach. They will continue to receive training as they gain hands-on field experience.
