Background
The City is in the process of upgrading many of its playgrounds. An example of the quality of an artistic playground can be found at the current 500 Alton site where a “Rosie the Elephant” theme by Mostrom was installed.
These funds could be used to upgrade the artist elements at existing playgrounds listed below and/or to incorporate such elements at new playgrounds throughout the City.
The current G.O. Bond Program is funding the following 10 playgrounds:
- Marjory Stoneman Douglas Park
- Maurice Gibb Park
- Bayshore Park
- North Shore Park & Youth Center
- Palm Island Park
- Flamingo Park
- La Gorce Park
- South Pointe Park
- Fisher Park
- Tatum Park
