Orchestra Miami’s popular series of free outdoor concerts returns with “Unfinished”, featuring two uncompleted works by famous composers. The first is the little-known 10th Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, which was left unfinished at his death in 1827. At the time of his death, Beethoven left several sketches of two of the movements. Orchestra Miami will perform what exists of this symphony for the first time in South Florida, in a realization by musicologist Barry Cooper. This little-known piece by one of the world’s most famous composers will be paired with a very well-known unfinished work, Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony N. 8 in D Minor, D. 759. Also on the program is the Overture from an Unfinished Comic Opera by Camille Saint-Saëns. The 42 musicians of Orchestra will be led by Artistic Director Elaine Rinaldi.
