Gather oceanside for an open air concert featuring pianist and keyboardist Mike Eckroth and his Jazz Quartet at the Sunday, January 21 installment of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series, a free, weekly concert series presented by the Ocean Drive Association. Pack a picnic blanket or lawn chair to stake out your seat on the lawn. Showtime is at 5:00 PM, between 14th Street and 14th Place at Lummus Park.
Michael Eckroth is a dynamic presence both in New York and on the global stage. His music includes the genres of jazz, latin jazz, Cuban, Brazilian and other American popular styles. In 2018, Michael received a Grammy nomination for his contributions to the acclaimed 2018 Cuban music album, Orquesta Akokan. The album received widespread acclaim from notable platforms such as NPR and France’s FIP. Throughout his career, Eckroth has collaborated extensively with renowned jazz figures like John Scofield, Ron McClure, Eliot Zigmund, and Paul McCandless. Eckroth holds a Ph.D. from New York University and has also served as a former music professor at Dartmouth College.
