Buck, a St. Bernard/Scotch Collie dog, must fight tooth and claw for survival after being kidnapped from his comfortable home in California. He is forced to become a sled dog in the unforgiving wilderness of Yukon, Canada, during the 1890 Klondike Gold Rush.
