Almost everyone knew America’s most famous sex therapist, Dr. Ruth Westheimer. With her diminutive frame, thick German accent, and uninhibited approach to sex education, Dr. Ruth revolutionized both public and private conversations around sexuality. But fewer people were aware of her early years as a Holocaust survivor and then a machine gunner in the Israeli army, fighting during the Independence War. This delightful documentary is an affectionate tribute to a woman whose extraordinary impact on society is matched only by her remarkable life. For the first time, her story is told with the poignancy and detail it deserves.
