The Colours of Royal Tour. Julian Marley is the son of reggae legend Bob Marley and Barbados-born Lucy Pounder. Born in the London, raised in Jamaica, Julian was steeped in a musical atmosphere and surrounded by the legends of reggae music. Julian 1996 debut album Lion in the Morning launched him into the public eye, leading to International tours with his band The Uprising, and a collaboration with Lauryn Hill on her Grammy-winning album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. He has joined his siblings Stephen, Cedella, Damian, and Kymani on inspired tributes, world tours and musical missions. At the invitation of the Jamaican government, he performed during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, and celebrated alongside Jamaica’s Gold medal-winner Usain Bolt. Marley’s 2009 album Awake garnered several Grammy nominations, and was awarded 2010 ‘Best Album of the Year’ at the International Reggae and World Music Awards. In the same tradition as his father, Julian is a devout Rastafarian whose music is inspired by life and spirituality. And while Julian has built a formidable reputation by transcending musical genres, we can be sure that all future endeavors that the music visionary embarks on will remain spiritual, moral and with a global mission.
