Basic Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) In-Class Training

February 27 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may occur where they live.

CERT trains volunteers in basic disaster response skills, such as:

  • Preparedness
  • Damage Assessment
  • Fire safety
  • Light search and rescue
  • Team organization
  • Disaster medical operations
  • Terrorism

The CERT program offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.

Basic CERT training is 24 hours with 8 hours online and 16 hours in class.

Interested individuals can contact cert@miamibeachfl.gov. You will then be given the instructions on how to complete the on-line training prior to the in-class portion. This must be done first.
