David Martinez began with the City of Miami Beach in 2011, with 11 years serving as Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) Director and two years serving as Assistant CIP Director. As Interim Assistant City Manager, David oversees Capital Improvement Projects, Housing and Community Services, Planning, Procurement, and Public Works.
David's engineering and construction industry experience spans over 38 years and includes over 19 years dedicated to public service in high level and executive roles. Prior to joining the City, David was a Senior Project Manager with Miller Construction and Director of Construction at Tri-C Construction. He holds a master's degree in business administration from Nova Southeastern University and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Florida International University. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in the state of Florida.
