City Hosts Miami Beach Family Day

— A day of free, fun and family-friendly activities across the city —

Miami Beach, FL – Miami Beach invites residents and visitors to celebrate the city’s vibrant cultural and artistic scene on Saturday, March 29 with its first annual Miami Beach Family Day. This exciting, free event will feature a diverse range of interactive, fun, and educational activities for all ages at venues across Miami Beach, including art workshops, dance classes, live performances, and much more.

To make transportation easy, the Miami Beach Trolley will provide free connections to and from participating venues, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the full range of offerings.

Event Schedule:

10 AM – 11 AM: Start your Saturday with Miami City Ballet's Explore Dance Community Class, a lively, all-ages movement class led by a community engagement teaching artist and live musician. No experience needed, just bring your energy and get ready to dance!

10 AM – 2 PM: The Bass Museum of Art will open two hours early and activate its drop-in art studio, The Creativity Center, for art-making activities, design challenges and more!

10 AM – 2 PM: The Miami Beach Botanical Garden presents Miami-based composer and artist Juraj Kojš in his exploration of music-making with orchids. Three modules will feature plant-inspired soundscapes (Orchid Music Ultrasonic), an orchid DNA installation (Orchid DNA DJ) and a collection of plant-tech objects (O-Things). At 12:30 pm, join Kojš as he performs live on his laptop, mixing sonic and ultrasonic soundscapes. After, try out the Orchid DNA DJ installation and join Kojš for guided tour of the exhibit.

10 AM – 2 PM: The Wolfsonian–FIU will feature Harry Clarke’s stained-glass masterpiece called the Geneva Window. In honor of the installation, the facility will present a glass-inspired activity with shatterproof materials that attendees can take home.

10 AM – 2 PM: Miami Beach Urban Studios welcomes participants of all ages for activations at its galleries. At the FIU SoA Miami Beach Urban Studios, attendees will learn the basics of DJing with DJ Shmu inspired by the exhibition Beats, Pics & Masters. At the FIU Miami Beach Visual Arts Gallery, young filmmakers will learn how to design and build miniature sets using cardboard led by artist Maria Lino. Families can see the exhibition, “Wandering Strangers” and leave with a ready-to-film set.

10 AM – 2 PM: O, Miami will host a friendly workshop for beginners on basic flower pressing techniques with an accompanying poetry lesson combining art, nature and mental health at the Miami Beach Regional Library's YOUMake Space.

10 AM – 2 PM: Moonlighter Fablab presents BATHGATE: The Machinist Sculptor, an exhibition exploring form, function, the industrial and the handmade. Inspired by the exhibition, participants will use tools and resources to design and build cardboard structures.

10 AM – 2 PM: Strut down iconic Ocean Drive with your beloved pets in South Beach’s first ever pet parade presented by Miami Beach residents in partnership with the Ocean Drive Association, Miami-Dade County Animal Services and the Miami Beach Mayor and City Commission. In addition to the parade, the Miami Beach Promenade Pet Parade will offer an array of pet-focused activities, including pet-related vendors offering unique goods and services, adoption opportunities and vaccines.

10 AM – 4 PM: Miami Beach Pride Festival invites families — and their furry friends — for a day of joy and celebration at the 2025 Miami Beach Pride Family Picnic! Pride Park will come alive with bounce houses, outdoor games, crafts and character meet and greets for all ages.

11 AM – 12 PM: Miami Beach OnStage! presents Pablo Cano's Musical Marionettes with artist Pablo Cano and opera singer Maria Elena Vallejo in person at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Cano's world is a whimsical blend of space, movement and the magic of found objects, where every performance is a surreal adventure into the heart of imagination.

11 AM – 3 PM: The Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU will host "Our Family and Florida," where families will discover the past through an oral history mini-project. Participating children will build a family tree, interview their families and contextualize their stories. Families will connect their experiences to histories of migration, Florida and the world.

12 PM – 3 PM: At Lincoln Road families can enjoy a fun day with free miniature golf. Children 10 and under can learn how to ride a bike from 12 - 3 p.m. at the Euclid Oval.

6 PM – 10 PM: The Miami Beach Bandshell/Rhythm Foundation will host the We are Family Roller Disco featuring DJs Nikita Green and Yung Algebra with skate hosts All Skates Go To Heaven. Free skates rentals available for Miami Beach residents and $10 for non-residents. All ages and skate abilities are welcome! Non-skaters can enjoy the tunes from the deck.
