Special Events

Our Department is working proactively to prepare for a successful 2024 New Year’s Eve in the City of Miami Beach. 

In order to allow for submission of adequate site plans and run of shows, the deadline for requests for a Special Event Permit (SEP) has been scheduled for Friday, October 11, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. Requests for a SEP WILL NOT be accepted after this date.

 

The City of Miami Beach welcomes a variety of special events that enrich the cultural fabric of our City for both visitors and residents alike. From spectacular beaches to charming streets and walkways and world class hotels, Miami Beach offers a distinctive tropical backdrop for spectacular events.

The Special Events office issues an array of permits on public property or inside private commercial property depending on specific uses.

Special Event Permits - are issued for events on public property or inside private commercial property and they range from a community events, marathons, festivals, corporate functions and beach concerts, among others.

Ceremonies & Team Building Permits - are issued for simple wedding ceremonies and corporate team building.

Pop-Up Venue Permits - are issued for temporary retail spaces that can be used to promote and sell products of all types, ranging from food and beverage, clothing, or unique gifts.

Rue Vendome Permits - are issued for micro events and activations on North Beach’s Rue Vendome.

Temporary Sampling Permits - are issued for product sampling on public property.

Demonstration Letters - it is your first amendment right to demonstrate. This is notification to City Services to ensure public safety on any upcoming demonstrations or rallies.

Ambient Entertainment Permit - are annually issued for restaurants seeking to provide indoor ambient entertainment in zoned districts where entertainment is permitted or conditional use.

Miami Beach hosts world class events, including Art Basel Miami Beach, Miami Marathon, South Beach Wine & Food Festival, Air and Sea Show Miami Beach 2017, and various Super Bowl Week events.  We also coordinate and permit City produced events, including Miami Beach Centennial, July 4th Celebration, and Veteran’s Day Parade.
