Kristy Bada Bio

 

Kristy Bada was appointed Chief Procurement Officer for the City of Miami Beach Procurement Department in September 2024. In this role, she oversees all procurement activities, leading initiatives in contracting, compliance, and supplier management for the City. With nearly seventeen years of public procurement experience in South Florida, Kristy brings extensive expertise in managing complex and high-profile projects, including public works solicitations. Over her nine years in the City of Miami Beach’s Procurement Department, Kristy has played a key role in numerous process improvements. As a Procurement Contracting Officer, she spearheaded innovative procurement strategies designed to enhance cost efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

She has also excelled in building collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including agencies such as the Florida Department of Transportation and other state and federal entities. Before joining the City, Kristy held various roles at the Village of Palmetto Bay, where she led all solicitations for the Public Works Department and became the Village’s first purchasing agent. Kristy holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Criminal Justice from Florida International University (FIU). She is certified as a Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP) by NIGP, a Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO), and a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) by the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC).
