WOMEN’S SELF DEFENSE COURSE
Where are classes be held? At the Miami Beach Police Department, 1100 Washington Avenue. The Classroom portion (one hour) is conducted in our state of the art training room. The hands-on, self-defense component (two hours) is also conducted on site, in the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s (FDLE) approved defensive tactics room.
Is this a group class or one-on-one training? It is a group class consisting on average of ten to fifteen students.
Who are the class instructors? The class is taught by three FDLE certified Police Defensive Tactics Instructors (Officers Noel Castillo, Wil Collado, and Vivian Thayer).
Other information:
The three hour Women’s Self Defense class teaches students how to proactively disrupt an assailant’s plan by applying specific techniques and the proper mindset. The course includes a one hour lecture and two hours of practical application.
1) Learning Goal
The goal of this block of instruction is to provide students with information and techniques that can be used for self-defense against a potential assailant.

At the conclusion of this block of instruction students will be introduced to the following information:
- Situational Awareness
- Vehicular Awareness
- Home/Business Awareness
- Sexual Battery Awareness
- Stand-Up Defense Techniques
- Ground Defense Techniques
