North Shore Margaret M. Swett Social Club for Developmentally Disabled Adults & Children:

The Margaret M. Swett Social Club is celebrating 53 years of providing quality recreational / social programs for our community’s developmentally disabled population ages 10+. Registered members meet on Saturdays from 1 PM – 3 PM at the North Shore Park Youth Center and attend weekly theme parties, field trips, banquets, dances, and special programs.

Adaptive Beach Days:
“Adaptive Beach Days” is a pop-up program that provides full service access into the ocean for people with varioud disabilities with the help of trained staff, volunteers, access decks, beach wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment. To register as a Participant or Volunteer, please visit www.sabrinacohenfoundation.org (what we do – Beach Days) OR send an email to sabrina@sabrinacohenfoundation.org.

Beach Sand Access:
The City of Miami Beach offers Beach Wheelchairs, to access beach sand for those who are mobility impaired, to enjoy our beautiful beaches. First come, first served basis. A Driver’s License or photo ID is required. Beach Wheelchair Location: Ocean Rescue Headquarters (1001 Ocean Drive) and South Pointe Park (1 Washington Avenue). Beach Mats:
Beach mats are a safe beach access surface for those who are mobility impaired to reach our beautiful beaches. Locations: South Pointe Park, 3 Street, 4 Street, 4.75 Street, 6 Street, 8 Street, 10 Street, 12 Street, 14 Street, 14 Place, 15 Street, Lincoln Road, 17 Street, 18 Street, 21 Street, 27 Street, 44 Street, 64 Street, 69 Street, 71 Street, 74 Street, and 79 Street.
Inclusion in Recreation:
This program allows children with disabilities to participate in regularly scheduled recreational activities at all City of Miami Beach Parks & Recreation facilities. Call 305.673.7730 for more information.
Adaptive Bowling:
Scott Rakow Youth Center – 2700 Sheridan Avenue
Mondays, 10 AM - 11:30 AM
Tuesdays, 6:30 PM - 8 PM (1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month)
Ages: 12+
Free for Miami Beach residents registered in the Special Abilities Program. Parent / Guardian is required to stay for the duration of this class. Click here to register
AIM (Adaptive Inclusionary Mentors):
AIM is a free inclusionary program for children with special needs who are enrolled in the Teen Club Program at the Scott Rakow Youth Center. Special needs participants are partnered with teens their age and they participate tandemly in different activities and events. Activities include athletics, social skills classes, and recreational outings. Space is limited. Contact williepriegues@miamibeachfl.gov for more information.

Freebee:
The City of Miami Beach and Freebee have teamed up to offer Miami Beach Seniors (65+) in your building a FREE shuttle service to the closest Publix or pharmacy. The service is also available to Miami Beach seniors who participate in any of the elder programs provided by UNIDAD, Jewish Community Services, or Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Center (advanced registration with Freebee is required).
The service operates seven days a week from 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. To schedule a ride, seniors can call 855.918.3733 at least 30 minutes before their desired pickup time. They will be asked to provide their name, phone number, pickup location, desired pickup time, and number of passengers in their party (maximum four passengers).
