Leslie Rosenfeld is the Chief Education Officer for the City of Miami Beach. Leslie joined the City utilizing her knowledge of adult learning principles and education to support the organizational change underway in Miami Beach. Leslie has been integral to the development and success of organizational learning across the City and ensures that all staff members understand their role in the achievement of the City’s outcomes and mission.  Additionally, she develops and manages multiple performance excellence initiatives and university partnerships. She holds a Doctorate in Administration and Supervision from Florida International University, a Master’s Degree in English from the University of South Florida, and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Florida.

Leslie has served at the City Manager’s liaison to the Quality Education Committee for more than a decade.  As the liaison, she developed the City’s Education Compact with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and under her leadership as the City’s Chief Learning Officer, all Miami Beach public schools are implementing the International Baccalaureate Program.   She has been instrumental in developing and managing several youth initiatives including, but not limited, to behavioral health, nurse access, reading and math interventionists, SAT/ACT test preparation, ADL No Place for Hate, dual enrollment courses, and an annual Student Expo.

Leslie currently serves on the President’s Council of Florida International University.   She also writes a quarterly column in the MB magazine, keeping residents informed of the City’s youth-related partnership with City public schools and community partners that provide equity and access to all children.

Leslie has presented at numerous conferences including the American Educational Research Association, City/County Government Sterling Forum, Annual Quality Congress, Florida League of Middle Schools, and the Florida International University Writing across the Disciplines.  She has also served as a Florida Governor Sterling Examiner.
