MBERP
Welcome to the official website of the Miami Beach Employees' Retirement Plan (MBERP). The earliest origin of a retirement program for the City of Miami Beach was the Retirement System for General Employees created under and by the authority of Chapter 18691, Laws of Florida, Acts in 1937. The Retirement System for Unclassified Employees and Elected Officials was created in 1988. In March 2006 the Retirement System for General Employees and the Retirement System for Unclassified Employees and Elected Officials merged to form the Miami Beach Employees' Retirement Plan (Ord. 2006-3530).
Mission
To Properly Manage and Administer the Investments of the MBERP assets for the benefit of the members and beneficiaries of the Plan.
Exciting news for City of Miami Beach retirees!
During December 2024, retirees will not be charged a monthly premium for medical and/or dental coverage.
Thanks to the healthier choices of the employee and retiree population, as well as a significant increase in preventative care and annual health check-ups, the City will pass the savings from reduced claims to its retirees!
We hope this financial relief eases your burden during the holiday season, providing a little extra peace of mind as you celebrate with loved ones.
Please note the premium holiday will not extended to any coverages under the FOP & IAFF health trusts.
