Steven Feldman was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and at an early age, moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts.
In 1993, Major Feldman moved to Miami Beach, Florida, where he attended Arch Bishop Curley – Notre Dame High School. After graduating High School in 1996, he began working for the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Major Feldman was hired by the Miami Beach Police Department on February 22, 2000. While assigned to the Patrol Division, Major Feldman sought certifications in many aspects of the job. These included, Accident Investigation, Hostage Negotiations, and became a Drug Recognition Expert. Soon after, he was assigned to the Midnight Shift Crime Suppression Team, where he was part of a squad assigned to address issues identified through weekly crime analysis. On October 2nd, 2006 he was promoted to Sergeant and again returned to the Patrol Division. Shortly after that Steven returned to the Crime Suppression Team as the afternoon squad supervisor.
In October 2010, Major Feldman transferred to the Criminal Investigations Unit as the Robbery Squad Supervisor. During his 5 year tenure in the Robbery Squad he supervised dual Task Force Officers and liaised with several of our partner local, state and federal agencies.
In October 2016, Major Feldman was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and served in the Technical Services Unit, managing the department’s Information Technology needs and expanding the citywide camera and license plate reader programs. During this period, Lt. Feldman contributed to the development of the 2018 Public Safety GO Bond projects, which included the new P25 Public Safety Radio System.
