Parks Rules and Regulations

 

GENERAL PARK RULES & REGULATIONS:

  • It is unlawful for a sexual offender or sexual predator convicted of a sexual offense, as defined in Section 21-280 of the Miami-Dade County Code, to knowingly be present in a County or municipal park, when a child under the age of sixteen (16) years is present, unless the sexual offender or sexual predator is the parent or legal guardian of a child present in the park. Violators subject to enforcement pursuant to Section 21-284, Miami-Dade County Code.
  • Lightning is a severe hazard that must be taken seriously. Everyone should immediately exit the park when lightning is observed and/or thunder is heard.
  • Dogs are not allowed in parks, unless visiting a dog park. Dogs must be leashed during transit to and from a dog park.  (Sec. 10-10, Sec. 10-11)
  • Bicycle, skateboard and motorized vehicle use is not permitted in play areas.
  • Alcohol, glass, and Styrofoam products are prohibited.
  • Abusive or foul language is prohibited.
  • Shoes and proper attire must be worn at all times.
  • Smoking is not permitted in parks. (Sec. 82-9)
  • Camping is not allowed in parks. Prohibited activities include sleeping outdoors, erecting a tent, hammock or temporary shelter, and cooking outdoors.  (Sec. 70-45)
  • Please use park areas with caution at your own risk, as uneven, wet, natural and unfinished surfaces are present throughout premises.
  • The City is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
  • Loud noises, such as shouting and playing amplified music, are not permitted. (Sec. 46-152)
  • Please keep park areas clean.
  • Balloons are prohibited in public marinas, parks & beaches. (Sec. 82.73)

  • To report any violation of the rules and regulations or suspicious behavior, call the Park Rangers at 305.673.7901. In case of emergency, call 911.

GENERAL POOL RULES & REGULATIONS:

  • All persons using the pool are required to check in at the entrance gate.
  • Facility users are only allowed in the swimming areas when a lifeguard is on duty.
  • All patrons must shower before entering the pool.
  • Diving and jumping allowed in designated areas only.
  • No running, pushing, acrobats, wrestling, ball playing or causing undue disturbances.
  • Patrons will be asked to leave for improper behavior.
  • Food or drink are only permitted in designated area.
  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in or on pool deck.
  • Persons under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted.
  • Glass or Styrofoam containers are not allowed in or on the pool deck.
  • Proper swimming attire is required for swimming. Cutt offs, t-shirt, long pants, jeans or street clothes are not allowed in the pool.
  • No oils are permitted in the pool.
  • Patrons must notify a lifeguard on duty if they cannot swim.
  • Floatation devices, balls, frisbees, toys, masks, snorkels, etc. are not allowed.
  • Do not visit or talk to the lifeguards while they are on duty.
  • The City is not responsible for the loss or theft of any personal belongings.
  • Conduct that may endanger the welfare and comfort of other patrons is prohibited.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • All children 3 years or younger or less than 36 inches tall must wear proper swim diapers.
  • Maximum bathing load in pool and on pool deck is 35 persons per one lifeguard.
  • All persons with open sores or rashes are prohibited from entering the pool.
  • Class/program participants will be admitted to the pool area 15-minutes before start of class.
  • During class/program parents or guardians must wait in the designated area and not talk to instructors, lifeguards or coaches until class or program is over.
  • The pool will close for inclement weather or maintenance.
