Jessie Betancourt joined the City Attorney’s Office in 2024 as a City Municipal Prosecutor. She is responsible for prosecuting criminal violations of the City of Miami Beach's code of ordinances.

Prior to joining the City Attorney’s Office, Ms. Betancourt worked as a criminal defense attorney in the private sector, representing clients throughout the State of Florida.

During law school, Ms. Betancourt was the Managing Editor of the Journal of Complex Litigation, President of the Elder Law Society, served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Rodriguez-Fonts of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, an intern for the Probate Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, and Judge and as a Law Clerk for the employment litigation defense team at a law firm in Coral Gables.
