Flooding is a threat to some part of the United States and its territories nearly every day of the year. On average, flooding is the second greatest weather-related killer in the United States, causing around 100 deaths per year during the last 10 years. However, being prepared and knowing what to do in case of a flood will greatly improve your safety, better protect your property and increase your chance of survival if it happens in your area. In this presentation they will briefly discuss some causes of flooding. However, much of the time will be focused on how to obtain alerts and warnings from the National Weather Service and what to do before, during, and after a flood.
