In this workshop, students will tackle the classic challenge of drawing the human figure from life. There will be demos and exercises to practice gesture, proportion, movement, foreshortening, form, light, and shadow.
Students will learn to put marks on paper that will describe what they see in front of them. This class is not so much about finished drawings, but rather the process of learning to express what they see on paper. A nude model will be used, taking short and long poses.
Various media may be explored. There will be a recap at the end of the session for students to review their work and learn from their fellow artists.
Open to teens with written parental permission.
All participants are required to follow the COVID safety precautions put in place by Oolite Arts.
