Major Enrique Doce was born in Havana, Cuba, and was raised in Miami, Florida. He graduated from Belen Jesuit High School and Miami-Dade College. Major Doce recently attained his bachelor's and master’s degree in Public Administration from Barry University. Major Doce successfully oversaw our Operations division for the past two years where he supervised the Patrol Division’s South Area, Mid-Beach Area, Redevelopment Area (RDA), Entertainment District, and the North Area out of the North End Substation. Major Doce is now spearheading our Criminal Investigations division for the second time in his career. He also served as the previous Commander of our Internal Affairs division.
Major Doce began his law enforcement career with the Virginia Gardens Police Department in 1984 and later joined the Miami Beach Police Department in 1989. While working in the Patrol division, Major Doce worked in various undercover capacities and was featured on the TV show COPS. He was later selected to join the Police K9 Unit where he served for twenty-one years as a handler, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain.
Major Doce has coordinated the planning and implementation of the Department’s Memorial Day Weekend planning since 2009 and has implemented succession training of junior staff members in the 2015 planning process.
In his thirty-three years with Miami Beach Police Department Major Doce has been named Officer of the Month eight times and was Officer of the Year in 2001. He won the Hispanic Heritage Award in October 2016 for his service as a Hispanic Public Safety Professional.
Major Doce is constantly pursuing growth in and outside of the Miami Beach Police Department to further his knowledge and opportunities.
