Art After Hours: Book Club will read and discuss a book selected for its themes relating to one of the exhibitions on view in our galleries. This June, we explore Octavia E. Butler’s Parable of the Sower.
Parable of the Sower is set amidst the global climate and economic crises of the early-2020s. Originally published in 1993, the speculative nature of the novel offers a strikingly accurate view of our world’s current state.
We will discuss this novel in conversation with the exhibition by Anne Duk Hee Jordan I will always weather with you which explores themes of climate change, technology and humanity’s relationship to the Earth.
